The Powerhouse in N. Fohdhoo is a crucial infrastructure facility that provides electricity to the island's residents and businesses. Operated by Fenaka Corporation, it is responsible for power generation, distribution, and transmission. A new, state-of-the-art powerhouse was recently inaugurated on the island, boasting a capacity of 530 kilowatts and relocating the facility away from residential areas to improve the quality of life for the islanders. The new powerhouse is also designed to reduce air and sound pollution, and it has been upgraded to a solar and diesel hybrid system to enhance service and meet the increasing demand for electricity.
